Scientists from Rothamsted Research, the University of Essex and Lancaster University provided an update on a new research project with GM wheat plants that have been engineered to carry out photosynthesis more efficiently. This trait has the potential for increased yields.
The research is funded as part of the International Wheat Yield Partnership (IWYP). This research project is funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and USDA.
Speakers will include:
Prof. Malcolm Hawkesford, Rothamsted Research
Prof. Christine Raines, University of Essex
Dr Elizabete Carmo-Silva, Lancaster University
